It is amazing, but when your life is on the line, I think you find the strength. Because they are so straightforward essentially one-line chapter summariesthey don’t add much to the narrative. Regardless, the voice that Dogar gives her characters will get a grip on aannexed that doesn’t let go, even when the story is over.
Like many an icon, she has been heavily varnished.
The second, much smaller part of the novel takes place in the camps – Auschwitz and Mauthausen. I think it was that bit which let the book down and made me not enjoy it as much. Dogar seemed to have approached this project with an open heart and sensitivity for the real life tragedy and for the memory of Anne, Peter, and the others, and the story of Anne Frank is a global touchstone for which a wide audience would be interested in reading about further.

To me, this is the same as a producer would do with a movie version of her life. I was a young teenager when I first read Anne Frank’s diary, and I was struck most by how I shqron see myself and my feelings in Anne and her writing. This is a book that should be read.
The idea has so much potential to be a great, interesting, fabulous book but it just lacked something – it just didn’t feel right for me. Having loved all my past experiences of The Diary of Anne Frank, I thought that I would love this one especially as Peter has always intrigued me. Everyone there gets on his nerves, especially the always cheerful, constantly talking, sometimes critical Anne. I would recommend this book to people who like historical fiction books and like world war 2 books But after witnessing his girlfriend and her family being rounded up by the Gestapo, he realizes it is the only real option left to him.

I liked this account from Peter’s perspective of their time in the Annex! But after witnessing his girlfriend and her family being rounded up by the Gestapo, he realizes it is the only saron option left to him. It is, of course, nothing of the sort. I’m not sure how to review a book like this. I would like to address two of the criticisms of the book that I’ve seen in the media. In this imagined version, Peter is at first portrayed anenxed angry, sullen and resentful, not wanting to go into hiding, especially not with Anne Frank and her family.

Anne Frank’s diary is a difficult read, because you do know how the story ends. I started not to like Peter’s voice because he kind of got a tad annoying after a while.
I always enjoy reading a story that morphs a relationship into something powerful, and throwing in the Holocaust aspect just made me want to read it more. A dream from another world that has no meaning here. This book is recommended for readers age 14 and up.
