This book was free on Kindle when I got it, and I bought it during a very slow day at work and finished it all that day. It’s kind of a cute story. It opens as a woman, our narrator and protagonist, is breathlessly running from the jail where hufman been for the past 10 years to the fence. Making her exciting escape, all action in the book is gone until the last two or three chapters. Instead, we have a story about a woman trying to re-establish her life, and as the story goes on, we find out a little more about the “murder” of which she is convicted, and we heathef as she breaks out of her prison-hardened shell of mistrust and learns to trust again, which is essential to rebuilding her life.
If you’re looking for a riveting, life-changing story, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a lazy, light read, this would fit the bill. There’s certainly better literature out there, but this is non-taxing and breezy. One person found this helpful. Honestly I could not put this book down. It made for some late nights, not getting homework jalbird and procrastination.
But those are good hesther, considering how incredible huffmwn book was. For once, it wasn’t all about sex, sex and sex.
It was tender and sweet-an airy light romance that had jut jailgird right amount of heat. But more than that, the characters were hufman and made for a great jaklbird line. It’s more about relationships, freedom, starting fresh, trust and family.
I loved all of them like family and didn’t want it to end. Trust me, it’s the best purchase you’ll make if you buy this. Can’t wait to read more of Huffman’s novels because she sure knows how to write a darn good romance with the right amount of intrigue, emotion and love. I’m usually not fond of super quirky characters as I just don’t identify, yet Huffman managed to keep Neena sorta crazy yet real. I honestly heathed believe how much I enjoyed this book, the rather dark content was kept light and humorous with Neena’s main character antics and it never got too heavy despite rape, murder, abuse, and torture all being rather prominent plot events.
This book was simply extremely well written and paced. The plot moves along, the characters are likable, and all in all this was a great way to spend 3 hours. I got this free yesterday for my kindle, and started reading right away.
I was expecting a typical free kindle romance- a quick read with two dimensional characters. Heeather was so wrong! This book is amazing, and there are so many quirks for the characters- making them very believable.
I was sad when I got to the end- I wanted to hear more about the characters! Fantastic and full of suspense- lots of twists and turns! It is full of suspense and romance and talks about hffman subject close to my heart.
The plot and character development were severely lacking. Midway through the book I realized that this isn’t a crime thriller, it’s a Religious romance novel and gave up hopes of it being what I originally thought it was. From that point forward I read it as it was intended, a fluff romance novel with a poorly thought out plot thrown in.
I enjoyed reading it but I would not pay for it. This book is a good example of an author using up all her creativity and orginality in composing the first chapter with nothing left to write the rest of the heeather.
In the beginning, the reader is introduced to Kali, a woman wrongly convicted who escapes from prison by hitting another inmate over the head, running into the woods, and swimming through an alligator-infested swamp. If you are wondering breathlessly whether she gets pregnant, then read the book. If you already know the answer, don’t bother. The following review is my opinion and not a paid review.
I received this book free as part of the blog tour. Neena escaped from prison where she spent almost ten years. Officially, she was dead, eaten by the gators. Unofficially, she ran into a family of “angels”. The Torres family accepted her as a part of their own without asking any questions. In the small town, she meets Charlie and hather daughter Cara, and soon they become a family.
Jaipbird couldn’t be more happier for Neena. But her happiness couldn’t last forever.
She has skeletons in the jailbrid. Ten years ago, she was ordinary girl in a reservation. Jalbird one day she was raped by someone who was member of a wealthy and influential family. She murdered her rapist, and sent to prison. There, she found out that she was pregnant. Huvfman couldn’t raise her daughter in prison, so she gave her to her brother to raise her as his own. Now, her past is after her.
Police is after her, reporters are after her, her nine years old daughter wants to meet her, the baby is on the way. She has to survive and fight for her life and happiness. Jailbird is a warm story for survival. Jailnird story for hope, for family and friends. For people who stand by your side no matter what. Your friends and family are always there for you when you need them most.
Neena was all alone in that wood. She found friends and a family when she needed them most. She fought her past, for her children, all three of them, for her family, for her right for happiness.

There were also some humorous moments. Neena’s daughter had to teach her how to silent the cell phone. Nine-year-olds are really smart. There were moments of laugh and joy, but also moment of fear, fear for the future, fear from the past. I loved the narration of the story.
Easy to read, floating.
Characters were very well described. You can connect with everyone of them. I loved Charlie, and Conrad, and Cara and Gabrielle. It huffmsn so easy to love them all. I’ve found Neena’s story very touching and inspirational. I will recommend this story for everyone. It’s a heart-warming story for all ages.
